“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
— Mahatma Gandhi
In honor of National Financial Planning Month, I've been reflecting on how grateful I am for this profession.
This year marks my 20th year as a financial planning practitioner. It's hard to believe two decades have passed, and I hope I'll have the opportunity to write similar reflections in my 30th and 40th years.
Throughout my career, I've learned that financial planning is about much more than investments, retirement plans, or tax strategies. It's about helping people align their resources with what matters most. It's about helping clients navigate uncertainty, pursue opportunities, and create lives filled with purpose, security, and freedom.
In many ways, this aligns perfectly with the message of the MIRROR Model. Health and wealth are not destinations. They are lifelong pursuits that require movement, resilience, observation, renewal, recovery, and the support of others along the way.
One of the greatest privileges of this career has been the relationships. I've had the opportunity to work closely with clients during some of the most important moments of their lives. Over time, those relationships evolve into deep trust, meaningful conversations, and lasting friendships.
I'm also grateful for the incredible team at Summit Wealth Management. Their dedication, expertise, and support allow me to focus on serving clients at the highest level. I continue to learn from my colleagues every day, and I'm a better advisor because of them.
After 20 years, I'm more energized about this profession than ever. Helping clients solve complex financial challenges, gain clarity, and move closer to financial independence remains deeply rewarding.
Here's to the clients, colleagues, mentors, and families who have been part of this journey.
And here's to many more years of helping people build wealth, improve wellbeing, and live with greater confidence in the future.
