Republicans knew exactly what they were doing when they drafted this bill.

According to data from the Center for American Progress, they rigged the timeline so some of the worst Medicaid and Medicare cuts kick in after the midterms. So if they lose, they'll force pain onto Americans in hopes they'll blame Democrats and vote Republican in '28. Vote Democratic this November to stop their trap.

Initiative 195 would eliminate Colorado's 4.4% flat income tax rate and replace it with a graduated income tax system starting Jan. 1, 2027. Individuals and businesses earning more than $500,000 a year would pay higher taxes, while about 97% of Coloradans would see a tax reduction.
