It may feel early to start thinking about year-end, but December and January will be here before we know it! 🫣❄️

If you know you’ll need bookkeeping support before year-end, now is a great time to start looking. Availability tends to fill up quickly as we get closer to the end of the year.

Behind on your books? No judgment! Now is also a great time to get caught up and organized before year-end and tax season arrive. 📚

If bookkeeping has been sitting on your to-do list, I’m happy to chat!

Running your business takes enough of your time. Your bookkeeping doesn’t need to take up the rest of it. 🙌

I help small business owners who are ready to spend less time worrying about their books and more time focusing on the work they actually enjoy.

Here’s how I can help:

📚 Keep your books accurate and up to date
💰 Stay on top of your income and expenses
✅ Reconcile your accounts each month
📊 Better understand how your business is performing
🗂️ Stay organized and prepared for year-end and tax season

If bookkeeping has become one more thing on an already-full plate, I’d love to help take it off your hands. Book your Discovery call here: https://lakechamplainbookkeeping.as.me/schedule/4fcdf3ee/appointment/56401287/calendar/9420295

🍂 Fall bookkeeping check-in!

September is a great time to take a look at your books and make sure everything is up to date.

Are your accounts reconciled? Receipts organized? Any transactions still sitting in “Ask My Accountant”? 👀

A little cleanup now will make year-end a lot easier!

1099 season will be here before we know it! 📝

Save yourself some scrambling later by making sure you have a completed W-9 on file for each contractor you work with.

You’ll also want to keep track of how much you’ve paid each contractor throughout the year so you can determine if a 1099 is required.

A little prep now can make January a whole lot easier!

Need help getting ready for 1099 season? I'm happy to help!

📅 A couple of important tax deadlines are coming up on September 15!

If either of these applies to you, be sure to mark your calendar:

• Q3 estimated tax payments are due for self-employed individuals and business owners who make quarterly payments.

• Extended tax returns are due for Partnerships (Form 1065) and S Corporations (Form 1120-S) that filed for an extension.

It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into the final few months of the year!

If your bookkeeping has fallen a little behind or you’ve been thinking about finally taking it off your plate, now is a great time to get started.

I’m currently accepting new clients for monthly bookkeeping, clean-ups, and catch-up work.

Year-end will be here before we know it, and bookkeepers and accountants tend to fill up quickly as we get closer. Getting started now means you can head into year-end with clean books and one less thing on your to-do list!

🔒 Simple Ways to Protect Your Business

Financial fraud isn't just something that happens to "other" businesses, a few small habits can go a long way in keeping your business safe.

▪️ Reconcile your bank and credit card accounts every month
▪️ Review your statements and reports for unfamiliar transactions or unusual changes
▪️ Never give one person complete control over your finances, separate duties whenever possible
▪️ Double-check vendor and employee payment details before sending money
▪️ Watch for duplicate payments or duplicate invoices
▪️ Change your passwords regularly and turn on two-factor authentication for financial accounts

A little diligence now can save you a major headache later.

📅 Mark your calendar! Important tax deadline coming up on September 15:

▪️ Third quarter estimated tax payments are due for self-employed individuals and business owners who pay quarterly
▪️ Extended returns are due for Partnerships (Form 1065) and S Corporations (Form 1120-S) that filed for an extension

Now's the perfect time to review your books, make sure your records are up to date, and get ahead of the deadline instead of scrambling at the last minute!
