California Sales Tax Rate Changes Effective October 1, 2026

If your business collects sales tax, now is a good time to check your rates!

New sales and use tax rates take effect October 1, 2026, and the applicable rate can vary depending on the location of your business or where your sales are delivered.

Take a moment to check your location and make sure your point-of-sale system, invoicing software, and accounting systems are using the correct rate beginning October 1.

The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) provides the current rates and an address lookup tool here:
