Advisory is where your numbers start working for your business, not just reporting on it.

At FXBG Accounting & Advisory, we help business owners look beyond the financial statements and understand what those numbers actually mean for the decisions they’re making every day.

Are you pricing for profitability? Is cash flow supporting your growth? Can your business afford the next hire, investment, or expansion? Are you on track for the goals you’ve set, or is it time to adjust?

Those are the conversations advisory makes possible. Our team works alongside you to identify trends, anticipate challenges, plan for what’s ahead, and turn financial information into clear, actionable direction. Because strong businesses aren’t built by only looking backward - they’re built by understanding where you are now and making intentional decisions about what comes next.

If you’re ready for more than year-end numbers and tax-season conversations, FXBG Accounting & Advisory is here to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

A new quarter is right around the corner, which makes now a good time to take a closer look at your numbers.

A few common accounting myths can lead business owners to wait too long to plan, especially when things are going well. But proactive planning before year-end can give you more time to understand your financial picture, prepare for tax obligations, and make thoughtful decisions heading into Q4.

The goal isn’t just to know where your business has been. It’s to use that information to plan for where you’re going next.

Save this as a reminder to check in on your numbers before the year gets away from you.

Happy first day of fall! 🍂

Before we officially trade summer days for cooler weather and everything that comes with a new season, we wanted to take a look back at a few of our team’s favorite moments outside the office.

From vacations and family time to celebrations, adventures, and the everyday moments in between, our team made the most of the summer months.

We spend a lot of time together collaborating, helping clients, and keeping things moving behind the scenes, but we also love getting a glimpse into the lives of the people who make up the FXBG Accounting & Advisory team.

Here’s to a summer well spent and a new season ahead.

You’ve built something worth believing in. But building the business is only part of the work. Knowing how to protect it, plan for it, and make decisions that support its future matters too.

When you have a clear understanding of your financial picture, you can make decisions with more confidence. You can see what’s working, recognize where adjustments may be needed, plan for what’s ahead, and make choices based on more than a gut feeling.

That’s why we believe accounting and advisory should be about more than looking backward at the numbers. It should give you the clarity and confidence to keep building what comes next.

Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the bravery shown, and reflect on the strength that brought our country together. 🇺🇸

May we carry their memory forward by choosing kindness, standing together, and never forgetting the lives forever changed on September 11.

“I don’t really look at my numbers unless tax season is coming.”

It’s something we hear from business owners more often than you might think.

But your financials shouldn’t just tell you what happened last year. They should help you make better decisions about what happens next.

Reviewing your numbers throughout the year can help you spot:

✨ Expenses growing faster than revenue
✨ Changes in cash flow or profit margins
✨ Customers taking longer to pay
✨ Services or areas of the business performing especially well
✨ Opportunities to hire, invest, or grow

You don’t need to understand every line of every financial report. You do need to know enough to ask the right questions.

Are we performing as expected?
What has changed?
What should we be watching?
Where are the opportunities?

Tax season is important, but it shouldn’t be the only time you’re paying attention to the story your numbers are telling.

September 15 will be here before you know it. 📅

If you make quarterly estimated tax payments, now is a good time to check in on more than just the upcoming deadline.

Take a look at your year-to-date income, expenses, and overall tax picture. If your business has grown, your income has changed, or this year looks different than expected, your original estimates may need an adjustment.

And with Q4 right around the corner, now is also the time to start thinking about year-end tax planning. The earlier you plan, the more options you may have.

Questions about your Q3 payment or what the rest of 2026 should look like? Our team is here to help.

Meet Jess, our new Advisory Manager at FXBG Accounting & Advisory!

Jess is a CPA with nearly 10 years of experience spanning Big Four accounting, consulting, and advisory services. Most recently, she served as a Manager with The Siegfried Group, where she worked closely with business leaders on accounting, operational, and strategic initiatives.

Her experience and perspective will be a valuable addition as we continue to grow our advisory practice and expand the ways we support our clients beyond traditional accounting and tax services.

Originally from Elyria, Ohio, Jess earned her BSBA in Accounting from The Ohio State University and her Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from the University of Denver.

Outside of the office, she enjoys group fitness, cooking, event planning, hiking, and playing volleyball with her husband and family. She’s also quickly found one of her favorite things about Fredericksburg: our local small-business culture - and no shortage of really good brown sugar cinnamon lattes.

We’re excited to have Jess on the team and can’t wait for our clients to get to know her. Welcome to FXBG Accounting & Advisory, Jess!
