A lot of people ask me what financial freedom means EXACTLY. To some, it is an ambiguous term because so many people throw it around.

Here it is; if your passive income replaces your earned income, your financially free. For example, let’s say you make $100,000 a year from your W-2 job. You have two rental properties and an investment account that produces $100,000 a year. This means you have now become WORK OPTIONAL.

To drill down a little deeper, you really should base this number not off of what you make in earned income but off of what your LIVING EXPENSES are. You may make $100,000 a year but your expenses are only $60,000 a year. That means you need to work toward your passive income being $60,000 a year to be financially free.

My name is Courtney and I am the host of the Financially Free Journey Podcast. The podcast aims to dispel the seemingly complex topic of personal finances, money management, debt, savings, investment, retirement and even starting and thriving as a small business owner.

The podcast features a mix of solo episodes and expert guest episodes. During the solo episodes I dive deep into a specific money topic and break it down for you so you feel confident and comfortable being able to tackle it on your own. The guest episodes features expert guests in certain financial and business topics. I interview them and have them share their biggest tips/tricks to help you on your own personal journey.
