I keep thinking about the Good Good x Callaway ad.
Not even the ad itself anymore.
I keep wondering about the rooms it went through.
Did someone say, “Guys… maybe not” and get ignored?
Did someone see the problem but stay quiet because everyone else at the table seemed so confident?
Did the newest person in the room think, surely these people know better than I do?
Or had they built a room where questioning the idea simply wasn’t encouraged?
Because two successful companies had to pitch, review, discuss and ultimately approve this.
And there’s a lesson in that beyond advertising.
Speak up.
If something doesn’t sit right, say it.
Ask the uncomfortable question. Challenge the popular opinion. Break the mold.
And if you’re consistently sitting at a table where you’re afraid to speak—or where you speak and no one is willing to listen—
Maybe that’s your sign to leave the table and build your own.
Sometimes imposter syndrome tells us everyone else in the room must know better.
Sometimes they don’t.
And sometimes the person quietly thinking “Guys… maybe not” is exactly the person the room needs.

Sometimes running a business without keeping up with your numbers feels a lot like driving while staring in the rearview mirror.
⚪️You’re always looking backward:
⚪️What happened?
⚪️Where did the money go?
⚪️Why is cash tight?
⚪️Did we actually make money last month?
Your books shouldn’t just tell you where you’ve been. They should help you understand where you’re going.
Because if you’re constantly trying to figure out the past, it’s pretty hard to confidently plan what’s ahead.
Keep your numbers current. Know where you stand. And keep your eyes on the road ahead. 🏞️
We weren’t going that way anyway. 😉

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend Intuit Better Together in Miami, and it was exactly what I didn’t know I needed.
As bookkeepers and accountants, we each have businesses of our own, but our real purpose is helping other businesses grow, prosper, and achieve their goals. Every day, we get a front-row seat to entrepreneurs building something they believe in, and it’s a privilege I never want to take for granted.
Shoutout to my longtime bookkeeping bestie (the cute brunette 😉) for always reminding me that this profession is better when we lift each other up. We’ve never viewed one another as competition—only collaborators. That’s exactly what yesterday was all about. Better Together isn’t just the name of the event—it’s how our profession is at its best.
Miami is always a vibe, and Temple House was an extraordinary venue. Great conversations, fresh ideas, new connections, and a renewed appreciation for this incredible community.
Thank you, Intuit, for creating a space where we could learn from one another, celebrate this profession, and remember why we do what we do.
More of this, please. 💙
