๐๐ TAX TIP TUESDAY
๐๐พ YOU TAKE THE STANDARD DEDUCTION? DONโT THROW AWAY THOSE DONATION RECEIPTS! ๐
Hereโs a NEW 2026 tax change many taxpayers may not know about:
Beginning with tax year 2026, taxpayers who donโt itemize may still be able to deduct qualifying charitable contributions up to:
๐ฐ $1,000
๐ $2,000 Married Filing Jointly
๐ HEREโS THE GEM: Weโre talking about qualifying contributions made by cash or check to eligible organizationsโsuch as certain religious, charitable, educational, scientific, or literary organizations.
So if youโre giving to your church or another qualifying organization in 2026:
๐ KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS & DONATION RECORDS!
๐จ Donations to individuals and personal fundraising accounts are not deductible charitable contributions.
And NOโa $1,000 deduction doesnโt mean the IRS is giving you an extra $1,000 refund. ๐ Itโs a deduction, not a tax credit.
Social media gives you the headline.
A knowledgeable Tax Professional should give you the DETAILS. ๐
