Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001 - a day that changed our nation and the lives of so many families forever.

For many in our BKC community, the memories of that day are deeply personal. Family members, friends, colleagues and clients were impacted, and each of us carries a different story of where we were, what we experienced, or what we have learned from those who remember it firsthand. We also remember the remarkable courage, kindness and sacrifice shown by so many, often complete strangers, who stepped forward to help one another when it mattered most.

Along with the profound loss, we also remember something else: the extraordinary way people came together. Neighbors supported neighbors. Strangers helped one another. American flags appeared on homes, businesses and cars across the country. In the midst of unimaginable tragedy, there was a powerful sense of unity, compassion and shared humanity.

Twenty-five years later, that spirit is worth remembering, too.

Today, we pause to honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, the first responders and all who answered the call to help. May we also remember the strength we found in one another and carry a little more of that compassion and unity.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
