~~ we started this journey together, and we’re still growing together.

Peppy, Mike, Anna Kay, Walt, and I all began our First Command journey in the same FSA class ( for life!!), and while our careers have taken us to different states across the country, we share a common purpose: helping military families, federal contractors, government employees, and civilians navigate their financial lives.

One tradition we’ve kept along the way? Taking a class photo every time we get together 📸

We’re about three months out from our last conference and about three months away from the next, which feels like the perfect time to look back on where we started and appreciate how far we’ve come.

Different states, different communities, and different career paths, but still one class cheering each other on.

Being deployed doesn’t mean your voice has to stay home.

In 2024, more than 418,000 active-duty service members, or 23%, were not registered to vote. That’s a lot of voices that weren’t part of the conversation. (Source: Federal News Network)

If you’re serving away from home this election season, don’t assume deployment means sitting this one out. Military and overseas voters have options for voting absentee from wherever they’re stationed.

A few things to know:

✅ Complete an FPCA. The Federal Post Card Application lets you register to vote and request your absentee ballot in one step.
📬 Plan ahead. Give yourself time to receive and return your ballot, especially if you’re deployed or stationed overseas.
📝 Ballot didn’t arrive? The Federal Write-In Absentee Ballot (FWAB) can serve as a backup if there isn’t enough time to receive your regular ballot.
🗳️ Need help? Your unit’s Voting Assistance Officer can help you navigate the process and find the information specific to your state.

And one of the best places to start: https://bit.ly/4dWGZKA, the Federal Voting Assistance Program’s resource for service members, military families and overseas citizens.

Wherever you’re serving, your vote can still come with you ~~ take a few minutes now to make sure you’re ready to use it.

Apparently, oxygen bars are the next big thing, and we got to try it out a couple months ago Denver 😂

Not exactly something I had on my list of things to try, but when you’re traveling, why not?

I’m always up for trying something new, even if I’m not entirely sure what I’m getting myself into.

What’s the most random thing you’ve tried while traveling?

What I wish I understood in my early 20s:

-> You don’t have to have your entire life figured out yet.
-> The decisions you make early can give you a lot more options later.
-> “I’ll deal with it later” is not always the best strategy - especially when it comes to finances 😉
-> Planning for the future doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the present.
-> Your goals will change. Your plan should be able to change with them.

I’ve been with First Command in some capacity since I was 18 and became an advisor in 2019 after graduating from CSU Sacramento, so I’ve had a front-row seat to how different life can look at different stages.

One thing I’ve learned along the way is that financial planning isn’t about having everything figured out. It’s about knowing where you want to go and making thoughtful decisions that help you get there.

And honestly, that’s something I wish I understood a little earlier.

Honoring Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s today and every day. We remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our Nation and hold their families close in our thoughts and gratitude.

The Fed did a thing last week 👀

For the first time since 2023, it raised interest rates, moving the federal funds target range up a quarter point to 3.75%–4%.

If your first thought was, “Cool... am I supposed to do something with that information?” you’re probably not alone.

Maybe.

A Fed rate change can work its way into different parts of your financial life, from what it costs to borrow to what you may earn on certain savings products. But it doesn’t affect every rate equally or every family the same way.

That’s why I wouldn’t make a financial decision based on one headline.

I would use it as a reason to check in.

Has anything changed with your debt? Are you saving for something in the next few years? Has a home purchase moved onto the radar? Does your current strategy still make sense in today’s rate environment?

If you’re curious what the Fed’s latest move means for your plan, send me a message. We can talk through it together.

It’s officially fall! 🍂 And as an October birthday girl, I’ve always had a soft spot for this season.

But this photo gives me another reason to love it.

That’s me and my sister Rachel holding her newborn twins on their very first trip to the pumpkin patch here in . It was their first real outing, right before Halloween, and somehow those tiny babies just turned FOUR this month.

How did that happen?!

Summer will always be one of my favorites because that’s when we’re on the lake, taking the boat out, camping, and fitting in as much outside time as possible. But there’s something about fall that feels different.

Cooler weather, my favorite clothes coming back out, my birthday around the corner, pumpkin patches, and a little more time to slow down after a busy summer.

And now, watching these two grow up way too fast gets added to the list.

Happy first week of fall! What are you most looking forward to this season?

A day late, but this is one birthday I couldn’t let pass without celebrating.

I never wore the uniform myself, but military service has always been part of my family.

My husband served five years in the Army. My dad spent more than 21 years in the Air Force. My brother-in-law is still serving in the Navy after nearly 18 years, and my father-in-law served around 15 years in the Marine Corps. And that’s still only part of the military service represented throughout our extended family.

So while yesterday belonged to the Air Force, for me it was also a reminder of just how much service has shaped the people I love and, in turn, shaped my own life.

Here in Fairfield, with Travis Air Force Base right in our community, I’m surrounded by even more Airmen and military families writing their own versions of those stories today.

Happy birthday to the United States Air Force, and an especially heartfelt thank you to my dad and all the Airmen and families who have been part of its first 79 years💙

We pause to remember the brave Americans who endured captivity, those who never returned home, and the loved ones who continue to carry their legacy forward. May we always honor their courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to our Nation. 💙
