If you have employees in Maryland, here's an important update:

Beginning January 2027, employees will start making contributions to Maryland's Paid Family & Medical Leave (FAMLI) program.

A few things employers should know:
• Employees are the ones making the contributions.
• Employers are not required to contribute, but they are responsible for collecting, reporting, and remitting employee contributions.
• If your business has one or more employees, you must register for the program.

If you have at least one employee in Maryland, you are required to register online. There are no exceptions under state law. This page will help you understand the information needed to successfully complete the registration process.

Friendly reminder for our clients:

If you filed an extension for your SDAT Annual Report, the deadline was June 15th. If you haven’t submitted it yet, now is the time to take care of it to avoid potential penalties.

We want to make you aware of a recent update involving QuickBooks and Square integration. Due to a system update, an “auto-add” setting may have been turned on without notice. This has caused some users to experience duplicate sales entries and fees being recorded in their accounts.

You may notice new or unexpected transactions appearing in your Undeposited Funds or bank account register dated after 4/15/2024. If you’re seeing anything unusual, we recommend reaching out directly to QuickBooks Customer Support for assistance at 1 (800) 446-8848. They are aware of the issue and are currently working on a fix, though no official timeline has been provided yet. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or need help reviewing your account.
