Could you now qualify for disaster tax relief?

A new law expands federal tax relief for victims of certain federally declared disasters, making it easier for eligible taxpayers to claim personal casualty loss deductions and extending tax-free treatment for certain wildfire relief payments. Changes include the removal of the 10% AGI limitation and the ability to claim qualifying losses without itemizing deductions.

MacKenzie Steding recently joined Boulay as an Assurance Associate.

MacKenzie previously interned with Boulay during the 2026 busy season. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in December with a bachelor's degree in Accounting and Personal Financial Planning.

She is currently studying for the CPA exams, but enjoys the outdoors and playing volleyball in her spare time.

Brooklyn recently graduated summa cm laude from St. Cloud State University with a bachelor's of science in Accounting. While in college, she was the captain of the women's tennis team.

She is currently studying for the CPA exams, but enjoys traveling, playing tennis, spending time outdoors and baking in her spare time.
