🍂 October marks the start of Q4. For many people, it’s one of the most important times of the year for tax planning.
Many tax-saving opportunities have a December 31 deadline, which is why we’re already having these conversations with clients.
Here’s what we’re reviewing:
✔️ Roth conversions to determine whether converting traditional IRA assets to a Roth IRA could make sense based on current tax brackets, future income expectations, and long-term retirement goals.
✔️ Capital gains and losses to determine whether realizing gains or harvesting losses makes sense.
✔️ Charitable giving strategies, including whether a donor-advised fund may be appropriate.
✔️ Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and whether a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) is worth considering for eligible clients.
✔️ Retirement contributions and other year-end planning opportunities before the calendar turns.
Every client’s situation is different, so the right strategy depends on their goals, tax picture, and overall financial plan.
