Everyone that works with me on a tax situation that is unfamiliar to both of us will tell you, I always go for a piece of paper. I make notes as we talk. I sometimes ask off the wall questions or sometimes excuse myself for asking what appears to be an unsuitable question. I promise you, these questions, your answers, our conversations....they all matter!

I was reading an insert in the latest addition of NATP Tax Pro magazine yesterday. There was an article written from the perspective of the NATP CEO, Scott Artman, titled Excellence in Focus; Professional standards still matter! I wanted to share with you a clip from the article.

"A quick answer is not always a correct answer. Tax questions often depend on facts, timing, documentation and context. A filing position that makes sense for one taxpayer may be inappropriate for another. A strategy promoted online may overlook limitations, substantiation requirements or the consequences of getting it wrong.

That is where a good tax professional earns trust. They slow the conversation down, ask the follow-up questions and look beyond the first answer. Sometimes the issue is not the question a client asks, but the facts they did not know mattered. A tax professional brings that judgement to the table and helps the taxpayer make a decision that is accurate, defensible and appropriate for their situation."

We are 1 year old today! 🎉 (And we owe it all to you)

One year ago today, we officially opened our doors. We started with a big dream, a lot of coffee, and no idea how fast this journey would fly by. Today, we are celebrating our first full year in business, and we want to look back and say a massive thank you.

Every tax return completed, every review written, and every time you recommended us to a friend has kept us moving forward. You aren't just customers; you are the reason we get to do what we love every day.
