A word on success, for small business owners (which applies to most people who don't own their own business as well):
Many business owners hold themselves back through improper or insufficient delegation skills. Simply put: It's likely you spend too much time on activities easily handled by somebody else.
There's one major place small business owners get hung up that will keep you "running a business" instead of *owning* a business -- and that's investing in the support staff you need to take some of the heavy administrative and marketing burdens off your plate.
This concept trickles down to areas of your personal life as well. Even if you're not a business owner - are you feeling pressed to find the time to play soccer with your kids, or spend time on the creative outlet that makes you feel alive? It very well may be worth it to hire out your lawn care, or house cleaning, and free up that precious space in your schedule.

The CEO of Amazon has an interesting rule about meetings: they should never have more attendees than can be fed with two pizzas.
For small businesses, the number of attendees may not be the issue, but the concept is important all the same. Don't have meetings for meeting's sake, and only involve people who absolutely must be there. There's a good chance a full meeting isn't the answer to the question you're facing.

Deadline alert: April 1 is the last day for most retirees who turned 70.5 in 2017 to take a required minimum distribution (RMD) from IRAs and employee-sponsored retirement programs.
If you haven't already gotten this disbursement, this is the week to make a few calls and be sure it's setup to come to you by Sunday.

If you haven't filed your taxes yet...well, first of all, give us a call because time is running short.
If you haven't filed yet, now is the moment to take stock of the forms you've received from employers. You need to have a W-2 from *every* business you worked for as an employee in 2017, even it was only for a short time. If you worked as an independent contractor and made more than $600, you should have a 1099 form from each of those income sources.
If you don't have those important documents in your hands yet, then you need to call your employers and get a copy, ASAP. You can call us in the meantime to get the preparation process started, but we'll need those forms to be able to finish.
