Sorry for the bad news but there is no NEW Stimulus Check going to be issued. The Internal Revenue Service has not announced a universal $2,000 direct deposit for every taxpayer in February 2026. There is no new stimulus program or automatic payment approved for all Americans. Any nationwide payment of that size would require Congress to pass a law and the President to sign it. As of now, no such legislation has been enacted. Please share so people can be informed.

Watch for advance Child Tax Credit letter coming in the mail. You will need this to properly file your 2021 Federal Taxes.

The IRS will send Letter 6419, 2021 advance CTC, starting late December 2021 and continuing into January. The letter will include the total amount of advance Child Tax Credit payments taxpayers received in 2021 and the number of qualifying children used to calculate the advance payments. People should keep this and any other IRS letters about advance Child Tax Credit payments with their tax records.

The Internal Revenue Service expects the first refunds will got out to taxpayers next week with many paid by mid-to-late February as in past years. The agency made that statement as tax season opened this week and it works to return operations to normal following the government shutdown.
