For tax year 2019, you may be eligible to take full advantage of the credit if your modified adjusted gross income is under $400,000 for married filing jointly; $200,000 for everybody else.

There are also child-related eligibility requirements for the Child Tax Credit.

The new 2020 Form W-4 no longer uses withholding allowances. Instead, there is a five-step process for determining employee withholding.

An employee may claim exemption from withholding in tax year 2020 if: (1) the employee had no federal income tax liability in 2019 and (2) the employee expects to have no federal income tax liability in 2020.
