Paycheck Protection Program rules released by the SBA allow self-employed individuals who file a Form 1040, Schedule C, to calculate their maximum loan amount using gross income instead of net profit.

IRS announces help with tax debt
The IRS said it was revising its procedures to help taxpayers who cannot pay their taxes because of the pandemic. The new program is called the Taxpayer Relief Initiative.

On this North Texas Giving Day, I wanted to be sure those of you who take the standard deduction there is a tax break you can take in regard to donations. The CARES Act is allowing up to $300 for donations to a qualified organization. Plus you still get to take the standard deduction. What a deal!

This would certainly eliminate concerns of the taxpayers. Plus it makes sense—so many letters that have yet to be opened would clear up many of the issues that notices are addressing.
