The IRS safe harbor rules can protect you from an estimated tax underpayment penalty when you’ve paid enough during the year through withholding or estimated payments. You may still owe the remaining tax when you file.

Yes—business owners may be able to legitimately hire their children to work in the business. But simply transferring money to your child doesn't automatically create a tax deduction. The work must be real, the pay reasonable, and the documentation matters.

Done correctly, this strategy can potentially help you:
