IMPORTANT CLIENT NOTICE — IRS Online Payment Processing

We want to make you aware of an important issue affecting many taxpayers this season. The IRS is currently experiencing significant delays in updating their online systems, which means your account balance may not reflect what you actually owe — even if a return has been filed and a balance is due.
What You Should Do:
1. Do not wait for a balance to appear in your IRS online account before making a payment. The system may be slow to update, but your obligation to pay is not delayed.
2. Do not wait for a letter from the IRS. Notices are issued after penalties and interest have already begun to accrue. A letter is not a prerequisite for payment.
3. Push the payment through now. If you know a balance is owed, submit your payment using IRS Direct Pay or through your online account — even if a balance due is not displayed.

⚠️ WARNING: Penalties & Interest Will Apply
Waiting for your IRS balance to appear — or for a notice to arrive in the mail — will not protect you from late payment penalties and interest. These charges begin accruing on the original due date, regardless of IRS system delays.
If you are unsure of the amount you owe or need help submitting a payment, please contact our office before the deadline. We are here to help you avoid unnecessary penalties.
