🚗 Friendly Reminder: The IRS has changed the business mileage rate—and 2026 is a split-rate year!

Here’s what that means:

📅 January 1–June 30: 72.5¢ per eligible business mile
📅 July 1–December 31: 76¢ per eligible business mile

Be sure your mileage records clearly separate miles driven during each period.

Do you drive for Instacart, Uber, Lyft, Spark, DoorDash, or another third-party platform? If you aren’t tracking your eligible business mileage, you could be missing out on valuable tax deductions!

If your employer reimburses mileage using the IRS rate, double-check that its reimbursement policy has been updated. Don’t assume—ask!

📣 SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS: This if for you too! Also, If you reimburse employees for business mileage using the IRS rate, update your reimbursement policy and accounting system. Be sure your team knows about the change, and keep accurate records for both halves of the year!

Remember: Personal and regular commuting miles generally don’t qualify.

You can schedule an appointment to come into our Corona location or sign-up virtually. We file taxes for clients in every state accept NYC. Also, we do offer clients who qualify the ability to pay for their tax prep fees through their refund. Please note, not everyone qualifies for this.
