The traditional Japanese tea ceremony, known as chadō or chanoyu, is a choreographed ritual for preparing and serving powdered green tea (matcha) that embodies mindfulness, hospitality, and harmony.

August 25, 2026 (part 2) - Shimizu, Japan. We booked a tour that included Miho no Matsubara (Miho Pine Forest), a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony and a visit to a Japanese Garden.
Miho no Matsubara is a world-heritage coastal pine grove featuring roughly 30,000 Japanese black pine trees stretching along a 7-kilometer black pebble and sandy beach with dramatic views of Mount Fuji across Suruga Bay. Sadly, it was much to cloudy to see Mount Fuji when we were there.
