Daily Bread: The Courage to Begin Again
Grand rising.
As we start this Monday, I’m reflecting on how easy it is to carry the "noise" of the weekend—or even the stress of the past month—into the new week. It’s natural to feel like we’re starting from scratch, but I want to remind you that you aren't starting from scratch; you are starting from experience.
I am holding onto Isaiah 43:19 today: "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Sometimes, our current situation feels like a wilderness—uncertain, quiet, or just plain difficult. But even in the places where we feel nothing is growing, there is a "new thing" happening just beneath the surface. Healing isn't always a loud breakthrough; often, it’s the quiet, persistent work of showing up for yourself, even when you’re tired. Whatever mountain you are currently navigating, know that you have the strength for this specific climb.
A Short Prayer for Your Day:
Lord, thank You for the gift of a new week. Grant me the courage to release the weight of what I couldn't finish last week and the clarity to focus on the step right in front of me today. When I feel like I am in the wilderness, help me to see the path You are carving out for me. Renew my spirit, sharpen my focus, and let Your peace guide my decisions as I walk through this day. Amen.
