Fresh air, beautiful views, a little movement, and somewhere new to explore. That sounds like a pretty good recipe for aging well to us.
National Park Week gives us the perfect reason to celebrate getting outside and staying active at every age. Our Director of Operations, Tracey, knows a thing or two about exploring. She’s visited somewhere between 15 to 20 National Parks!
Whether your idea of an adventure is a long hike, a leisurely walk, or finding the perfect scenic overlook, staying active can look different for everyone. The important part is finding something you enjoy that keeps you moving, curious, and connected to the world around you.
At AFP, we spend a lot of time helping people plan for the future. But the numbers are only part of it. It’s also about having the freedom and independence to keep doing the things you love, exploring new places, and making the most of the years ahead.
Here’s to planning well, aging well, and plenty more adventures along the way.

One popular goal we see our clients set annually is to maintain or improve their health. As we age, we often see our wealth increase and our health decline, right at the time when travel or other activities become a higher priority. Do you have an exercise routine that works for you?Taking a moment to think through some small steps to achieve this goal is time well spent for every stage of life. There are so many options. The key is finding what works for you.
Not everyone has to run a ½ marathon to stay in shape, but this has been a fitness goal our founder/senior advisor, Teri Alexander, has committed to for the last 20+ years. For her, it’s not about how fast; it’s about crossing the finish line. Weightlifting is also key to maintaining strength and balance.
At AFP, we believe planning for the future is about more than finances. It is about creating a plan that also supports your health, independence, priorities, and the life you hope to enjoy for years to come.

An old retirement account. Beneficiaries you haven’t looked at in years. Insurance you chose a long time ago. Sometimes the financial decisions you made years ago made perfect sense for a different stage of life.
Financial awareness is simply taking the time to notice what has changed and whether your plans still make sense for the life you’re living now.
𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟰 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, a good reminder that you don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need to know what deserves your attention.
Because sometimes better financial decisions don’t start with making a big change. They start with simply paying attention. A little awareness can go a long way. Ready to take a closer look?

A Plan for how you're paying for college in a few years? Still on the list. ⬜️
Ohio's Sales Tax Holiday runs August 7 to 9 this year, and it's a great weekend to knock out school shopping tax free on clothing, supplies, and instructional materials.
But while families are checking off backpacks and notebooks, there's a bigger list many haven't started yet: 529 contributions, financial aid timelines, tuition strategy, and how rising costs fit into the rest of your financial plan.
These aren't things you can grab during a three-day sale. They take time, and the earlier you start, the more options you have.
If you have a student headed to college soon, or you're just starting to think about what that will cost, we'd love to help you build that part of the list too.
