📢 Reminder to Boone County Seniors: Don't Miss Out on Property Tax Relief

Many Boone County homeowners age 62 and older may qualify for the Boone County Senior Real Estate Tax Relief Program, which helps offset future increases in real estate taxes on a primary residence. Eligible participants can receive a credit based on increases in property taxes after their approved base year.

✅ Must be age 62 or older
✅ Must own and live in the home as your primary residence
✅ Must be responsible for paying the real estate taxes on the property

If you are already enrolled and remain eligible, Boone County has made renewals automatic for current participants.

Accounts cannot be funded until July 4, 2026
That date is quickly approaching — now is the time to prepare

💡 Quick Recap of Why This Matters
Eligible kids can receive a $1,000 government-funded starter deposit (for those born 2025–2028)
Families can contribute up to $5,000 per year
Employers can contribute up to $2,500 tax-free
Funds grow invested in market-based index funds
Works similar to a retirement-style tax-deferred account once the child turns 18
