Today is International Day of the Girl.

And this one deserves more than a cute graphic and a hashtag. Because somewhere right now is a little girl who is learning what she's "supposed" to be.

How loud she's allowed to speak. How ambitious she's allowed to become. How much money she's allowed to make.

Whether she's supposed to understand finances...
Or whether someone else will eventually take care of that for her.

I'd like to change that story. 💕

I want our girls growing up knowing they can build careers. Build businesses. Build wealth. Invest.

Ask questions. Negotiate. Make mistakes. Start over.

And make their own financial decisions with confidence.

I want them to know that talking about money isn't rude. Wanting financial security isn't selfish.

Being successful doesn't make them intimidating. And asking for what they're worth definitely doesn't make them "too much."

I work with so many incredible women who weren't taught those lessons when they were young.

Instead, they learned to take care of everyone else first.

Don't make waves. Don't talk about money. Don't ask the "dumb" question.

And somewhere along the way, Future Her kept getting pushed farther down the priority list.

Imagine what changes when the next generation learns something different.

When our daughters and granddaughters grow up hearing:

💕 Your voice matters.
💕 Your goals matter.
💕 Your money matters.
💕 Your future matters.
💕 And you deserve a seat at the table.

Here's the insight. The right answer depends on cash flow, interest rate, taxes, and peace of mind. For some women, a paid-off home is emotional security and lower monthly expenses. For others, keeping liquidity and investing supports flexibility.

Here's how I frame it.

• What does your retirement monthly budget look like with the mortgage, and without it.
• If you pay it off, do you still have a healthy cash cushion.
• Are you delaying retirement contributions to do it.
• How does this affect taxes and other goals.

Sometimes the best solution isn't all or nothing. It's progress with protection.

Today is World Animal Day.

Maui would like everyone to know he assumes this holiday was created specifically for him.

Honestly?

I'm not going to be the one to tell a German Shepherd otherwise. 😂🐾

If you're an animal person, you know they aren't "just pets."

They're family.

They're companions.

They're protectors.

They're therapists who accept payment in treats.

They're alarm clocks who don't understand weekends.

And somehow they manage to know exactly when we need a little extra love.

Maui has also taught me a few very important lessons.

🐾 Be fiercely loyal to your people.

🐾 Get outside whenever you can.

🐾 Protect what matters.

🐾 Don't waste energy worrying about yesterday.

🐾 And if someone drops food on the floor, opportunities should be seized immediately. 😂

That last one might not translate perfectly into financial advice.

The others absolutely do.

Life gets busy.

We spend so much time working, planning, saving, investing and preparing for someday.

But our dogs don't live in someday.

They live right now.

Right now there's sunshine.

Right now there's a walk.

Right now your favorite human walked through the door.

Right now there's a perfectly good tennis ball that clearly needs to be destroyed.

Maybe that's one more lesson worth stealing from them.

Plan for tomorrow.

But don't forget to enjoy today.

Take the trip.

Walk on the beach.

Drink the coffee.

Eat the cupcake.

Spend time with your people.

And throw the ball one more time. ❤️🐾

Because building a good life isn't only about the numbers.

It's about having the time and choices to enjoy the people, places and furry faces that make the numbers worth planning for in the first place.
