With the start of 2019 comes an entirely new tax return! Hang on for the ride. IRS is slowly (very slowly) letting out new forms and schedules. The new 1040 postcard format didn’t fit, so it is more like a 3/4 page. 8 or 9 new schedules feed into the “postcard.” For sure, politicians define SIMPLIFY much differently than everyday Americans!

Last day of 2014! If you have Charitable Contributions and Donations to give, you are down to the last few hours! Give because you are a cheerful giver and at the same time take advantage of the laws of your land.

December 15th, 2014! Whew, this year has flown by us. You have about 15 days to complete most of your last minute tax planning! Keep good records and maximize your deductions.

Note: IRS issued the 2015 standard mileage rate, 57.5 cents per mile. To take advantage of this you need to track your deductible miles. There are several good apps to help you complete this. Mileage Tracker, Triplog, Trip Cubby to name a few.
