Happy 2023 to you. I hope that you enjoyed some Hygge over the holidays and that you are rested and rejuvenated for 2023.

I mentioned to you at the end of last year that I will be expecting a new baby girl in January 2023. Since we are here, this will be my last post to you for some time. I will be back in the Spring post my maternity leave.

I usually have a theme for the year and encourage you to journey along with other members of the Charisse Says community to live in to that theme. In 2022, we focused on Simplicity. In 2021, we focused on Renewal, and in 2020, we focused on Connection.

I’m switching it up in 2023. I feel that every day, we have the opportunity to choose the theme of our lives - what we need, when we need it, and how we’re going to get there.

So, in that vein, I want you to ask yourself these questions on a DAILY basis?
⭐How am I going to approach my wealth today?
⭐What is my biggest asset that I can utilize to achieve the desires of your heart today?
⭐What might be preventing me from reaching my desires today?
⭐If I take 5 minutes to shut out all the noise and do absolutely nothing to slow down my mind, what does my heart tell me?

You don’t have to focus on all of these questions each day, but perhaps pick one and let that be your guide. Or, feel free to develop your own theme for 2023 rooted in a word or phrase that encapsulates the purpose of your life. Either way, I want you to be intentional about each day that you have on this earth as no day is guaranteed.

Today we celebrate Ujima for Kwanzaa. The Ujima principle is as follows: To build and maintain our community together and make our community’s problems our problems and to solve them together." I believe that this principle is necessary for wealth creation; wealth is a collective pursuit instead of an individual one.

As I get ready for these last few weeks of the year, I will be focused on one of my most important assets - a new child. George and I are expecting Baby Johnson #2 in January 2023.

As we prepare for our second child (a baby girl), and Gabrielle prepares to be a big sister, these 2022 themes resonate loud and clear for me.

Whatever thing you might be birthing (literally or figuratively) or concluding, my hope is that you think about one of these 2022 themes and apply it to your life.
