When membership growth slows, the instinct is often to increase effort with more outreach, more campaigns, and more pressure on the team.

Sustainable growth comes from building a system that is designed to perform. That includes thoughtful targeting, clear messaging, and a structured path that guides potential members through the decision process.

With the right approach in place, teams can achieve stronger results while working more efficiently and staying focused on high value activities.

At Bostrom, we help associations design membership programs that deliver consistent results and support long term growth.

It was great to host the National Association of Housing Cooperatives (NAHC) in our Chicago office this past weekend. The Board worked hard on building focus, accountability, and ex*****on for newly defined goals supporting the growth and enrichment of professionals and the communities they serve in cooperative housing.

Many membership campaigns are built around short-term pushes, which can make growth feel inconsistent and difficult to sustain.

The associations seeing stronger results are taking a more structured approach. They focus on clearly defined audiences, aligned messaging, and a member journey that supports engagement at every stage.

That foundation creates consistency and allows campaigns to perform over time instead of starting from scratch each cycle.

Bostrom works with associations to build membership strategies that are both effective and repeatable, helping teams create momentum without adding unnecessary complexity.

On July 9โ€“10, Bostrom's Client Experience Team gathered in Chicago for our annual CXT Summit, bringing together Executive Directors, Account Executives, Department Heads, and leaders from across the organization for two days of learning, collaboration, and professional growth.

This year's theme, Top Chef: CXT All-Stars, reminded us that delivering exceptional client experiences requires the right ingredients: leadership, adaptability, communication, accountability, innovation, and teamwork. Through a mix of expert-led workshops and peer-facilitated sessions, our team explored topics including leadership under pressure, communication and influence, operational excellence, talent development, accountability, onboarding, and time management.

One of the most valuable ingredients in this year's Summit was the opportunity for team members to learn from one another. CXT participants researched, developed, and led interactive sessions that shared best practices, fresh perspectives, and practical ideas that can be applied across the diverse organizations we serve. The result was a highly engaged and collaborative experience that reinforced our commitment to continuous improvement and client success.

A huge thank you to our facilitators Emily Golden and Rachel Levy, presenters, planning committee, and every member of the CXT who contributed their expertise, energy, and creativity. We're excited to bring these insights, ideas, and best practices back to our clients and continue delivering exceptional results in the year ahead.

Membership growth can be challenging, especially when campaigns rely on constant effort without a structure that supports long term success.

One association we partnered with was looking to improve performance while also creating a more efficient and repeatable approach their team could sustain.

Together, we refined their targeting, strengthened messaging across the campaign, and built a more intentional member journey designed to guide prospects from awareness to conversion.

The result was not just stronger performance, but a model that could be used repeatedly with consistency.

At Bostrom, we help associations build membership strategies that are designed to scale, so growth becomes more predictable and easier to manage over time.

When associations look to grow revenue, the first instinct is often to do more, which can quickly put additional pressure on already stretched teams.

Sustainable growth comes from designing a model that can scale. That might mean rethinking how sponsorships are structured, how value is communicated, and how partnerships are developed over time.

With the right approach, it is possible to increase revenue while keeping teams focused, supported, and aligned on the work that matters most.

At Bostrom, we help associations build models that support both growth and long term success.

Many sponsorship programs are built around transactions, which can make them difficult to scale and limit long term growth.

Associations that are seeing stronger results are taking a different approach. They are focusing on building partnerships that align with sponsor goals and deliver ongoing value, which creates more meaningful relationships and opens the door for sustainable revenue.

That shift does not happen by accident. It requires a thoughtful structure and a clear strategy behind how sponsorships are positioned and delivered.

Bostrom works with associations to design sponsorship models that support both impact and scalability.

One association came to us looking to increase sponsorship revenue, but their existing model was not built to scale, and their team was already at capacity. Instead of making small adjustments, they took a step back and rethought their entire approach.

By shifting from transactional sponsorships to strategic partnerships and aligning offerings with sponsor priorities, they built a model designed for long term growth.

The result was a significant increase in sponsorship revenue without adding strain to their internal team.

At Bostrom, we help associations rethink models like this so growth feels sustainable and achievable.
