Antonia Rivera, affectionately known to all of us as Tonia, was born in Chicago, Illinois, on a Friday morning in the late spring, May 24, 1985, and passed peacefully on a Sunday morning, May 26, 2024, at the young age of 39.
She was a cherished and loved daughter to Jesus A Rivera and Manuela E Agapito. She was a loving sister to Leticia, Guadalupe, Janet, and Benita, whom she loved dearly. Above all, she was a loving Aunt to her nieces, Claribel and Zitlali, and her nephew, Fernando. She was proudly the mom of a four-legged and furry baby by the name of Simba. She loved Simba with all her heart. Simba not only brought joy, companionship, and unconditional love to Tonia, but also brought laughter, comfort, and emotional support during these challenging times.
Tonia was a true pillar for her family, always prioritizing their well-being and putting them first. Her caring nature and selflessness made her the backbone of her family. Planning fun family trips brought joy to Tonia. Her happiness stemmed from seeing the smiles on their faces during the special memory making moments.
Tonia was also a great friend. Always there for them whether it was for fun and giggles and or hard times. Always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. Her warm personality, infectious smile, and generous heart made her stand out simply as an amazing friend.
The patience and passion for helping others showed when she served the community as a tax preparer for over 18 years. She served every client with care and respect. She instantly formed beautiful connections through her work, and many of her clients became friends over the years.
Looking back, we reflect on her enduring selfless love for her family and friends, reassuring them that she would be OK, which remained steadfast until her last breath. This poignant sentiment encapsulates the depth of her devotion and the profound impact she had on her loved ones.
Her legacy as a compassionate and thoughtful individual who always puts others first will be beautifully captured in all those beautiful memories she leaves behind. Her kind, loving, and selfless character and her impact on those around her will live on forever.
