Not every tax problem starts with the same issue, so I don’t believe every taxpayer should get the same answer.

A small business owner dealing with payroll taxes needs a different conversation than someone responding to an audit.
An IRS balance may lead us in another direction.

Back taxes, missing returns, notices, payment concerns, and trust fund recovery issues can all come with their own set of details.

That’s why I want to understand what’s actually happening before we start talking about a solution.

ETS Tax Relief works with individuals and small business owners who have tax problems to solve.

We’ll take a closer look at the situation, help you understand what needs attention, and work through the next steps with you.

Running a tax firm asks more of you than technical knowledge.

You can know the rules, forms, calculations, and representation procedures and still feel like the firm itself needs better structure.

That's where conversations around workflow, service offerings, tax representation, marketing, firm management, and client experience become important.

Join us at this year’s 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽 to take a closer look at how the work gets done, how clients move through your process, and what may need to change so your firm can support the level of service you want to provide.

If you’re ready to think beyond the return and strengthen the firm behind the work, I’d love to see you there.

This October I’ll be speaking at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗘𝗻𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝗺 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽.

Current and aspiring Enrolled Agents will be talking about the parts of firm-building that don’t always get enough attention during tax season including:
• how to structure your services
• how to manage your workflow
• how to handle representation work
• how to communicate with clients
• how to build a firm that can support the work you’re doing

As tax professionals, we spend a lot of time strengthening our technical knowledge because that knowledge supports the client work.

At a certain point, the firm behind that work needs attention too because it shapes how sustainable the practice can become.

If you’re planning to be in 𝗝𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻, 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸𝘆 from 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟮 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝟮𝟰, I’d love to see you there.

Reporting only the business miles on a vehicle, without tracking total miles driven, is one of the fastest ways to overstate a depreciation deduction. And it's one of the more common mistakes on returns with business vehicles.

This course covers that error and several others tax professionals run into with listed property and asset disposals.

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟵 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝗣𝗠 𝗘𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿: 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

We'll go through the listed property rules, what qualifies for Section 179 and bonus depreciation, and how to handle depreciation correctly in the year an asset is disposed of.

Here's what we'll cover:
• Vehicle depreciation and the mileage-tracking mistakes that inflate deductions
• Listed property rules, including the 50% business-use test
• How to calculate depreciation in the year of disposition
• Why failing to properly dispose of an asset on the books creates problems down the line

IRS collection notices can feel intimidating, especially when the words lien or levy appear.

Those terms are serious, and they’re worth understanding before you decide what to do next.

To start, a lien and a levy aren’t the same thing.

A federal tax lien is the government’s legal claim against your property when a tax debt isn’t paid. A levy is the actual seizure of property or money to satisfy a tax debt.

If collection notices are starting to arrive, it’s time to look at the tax years involved, the amount the IRS is trying to collect, and any deadlines listed on the notice.

If those words are showing up in your mail, ETS Tax Relief can help you sort through the notices and understand what steps may still be available before the situation becomes harder to manage.

A commercial building depreciates over 39 years. A rental home depreciates over 27.5. Mix those up on a client return and the error follows the property for decades.

That's exactly the kind of mistake this course is built to catch.

𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟵 𝗮𝘁 𝟮𝗣𝗠 𝗘𝗧 𝗳𝗼𝗿: 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

We'll work through real examples covering MACRS conventions, Section 179 limits, and bonus depreciation percentages for 2024 and 2025, so you leave with a method you can apply the same day.

You'll walk away able to:
• Spot which convention applies before you touch a depreciation schedule
• Catch land-versus-building basis errors before they reach a filed return
• Apply Section 179 and bonus depreciation together, correctly, on the same asset
• Handle listed property and vehicle depreciation without the common shortcuts that backfire
