I started two businesses that didn’t seem to go together. One for taxes. One for quilting. Turns out they did.

in 2020, I went out on my own. I figured I’d keep the two separate. Then I tried to set up bookkeeping for my quilting business and realized there was nothing out there to help me. So I built my own system.

I’m the tax expert. You’re the expert in your business. That’s always been true for me, and it’s why I teach the way I do. No geek speak, no talking down, just a clear system that makes sense.

Shift time.

Too often I see business owners avoiding their bookkeeping and taxes.

I expanded my frame from 10ft to 12ft.

More quilting room, larger quilts - sounds fantastic, right?

Where I went wrong: I didn’t move the magnets from my old leaders to the new ones.

The magnets that allowed me to load any backing easily and super fast.

I told myself that I didn’t have enough time to install the magnets…I wanted to start quilting right away!

Here I am, a year later, still pinning my backing - on every project.

Not taking the necessary time to use/learn the right tools for your business can cost you in more ways than one.
