We love these little notebooks. You can comfortably keep them in your back pocket for easy access. The pages are sewn, so they don't fall out.
When your client is going a mile a minute, you can easily jot down notes.

Tracking receipts is crucial. If there is ever any questions on an expense, you want to ensure you have a paper trail.

Whenever you purchase something, ask for 2 copies of the receipt. One for you and one for the client. We love to use these coupon books to separate clients. Once a month, you can then convert them to photographs or another filing system.

If an item isn't clearly described on a receipt, make a note of what was purchased and why.

Many clients love for you to log all purchases on a tracking sheet so they can reconcile with their accountant.

If you are using petty cash, ensure you keep an accurate log of cash in and out and have your client review and sign off on it daily/weekly or monthly. Keep copies of the log and signature or initialing.
