PARKING LINES - PHASE 2

Oh, you thought we were done? Nope! 😁

Reynolds Sealing & Striping will be continuing work in Central City this week. We are planning on Thursday.

They will be striping the following street parking areas:

- South First Street from the dead end behind the Courtyard to Morehead Street by the Tourism office (to include the Courtyard, Hair Topix, Holly J's, Festival Square and Farmers Bank & Trust)

- Whitmer Street (Central Park - All street parking places from the basketball court end to the community center)

- City Hall parking lot (Adding a left turn arrow for "Drive Thru" direction)

To make things go smoother, please refrain from parking in these areas on Thursday if you can.

Today, the City of Central City recognized three first responders with Life Saving Awards. Central City Fire Department Assistant Chief Caleb Phelps, Assistant Chief Colton Ashby and Central City Police Officer Hunter Beatty were all recognized for performing life saving measures to two local citizens in cardiac arrest. Please join us in congratulating them!

PUBLIC NOTICE - FLUSHING OF WATER MAINS

Notice is hereby given that the Central City Municipal Water & Sewer System will be flushing hydrants in the following areas on the following dates. This flushing will benefit the system by cleaning out water lines but may cause a temporary discoloration of water. The city apologizes for any inconveniences the procedure may cause; however, it is necessary for proper maintenance of the distribution system. This flushing is required to keep the system in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet (Division of Water) and other regulatory agencies. The flushing dates are as follows:

Routes A2 & B2: Monday October 19th, 2026 (5:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
Routes A2 & B1: Tuesday October 20th, 2026 (5:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
Routes B2 & C3: Wednesday October 21st, 2026 (5:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
Routes C2 & C1: Thursday October 22nd, 2026 (5:00 PM to 10:00 PM)
