Prayers for Officer Jason's family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that the Central City Police Department announces the passing of Officer Jason Phillips, Unit 163.

Officer Phillips passed away at his home on September 17, 2026.

Jason began his service with the Central City Police Department on November 16, 2020. During his time with our department, he became much more than a coworker. He was our friend, our brother, and an important part of our police family.

Jason loved his family, his coworkers, and the community he served. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him knew his sense of humor. He loved to joke, could light up any room he walked into, and had a way of making even the difficult days at work a little easier. His personality, laughter, and friendship will be deeply missed throughout our department and our community.

Today, September 18, we will have the honor of bringing Officer Phillips home.

We anticipate escorting Officer Phillips from the Muhlenberg/Ohio County line on the Western Kentucky Parkway to Tucker Funeral Home between approximately 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. Members of the community who would like to show their respect to Officer Phillips and support his family are welcome to stand along the route, including South 2nd Street leading to Tucker Funeral Home, as we bring Unit 163 home for the final time.

We ask that everyone continue to keep Officer Phillips' family, friends, fellow officers, and all those who knew and loved him in their thoughts during the difficult days ahead.

Obituary and funeral service information will be shared at a later time as those details become available.

Rest easy, Officer Jason Phillips.

This is a part-time position working 2–3 evenings per week on commercial cleaning accounts, with opportunities to pick up residential cleaning jobs during the day as needed for additional hours. Commercial is in muhlenberg and Madisonville area
