Will be interesting since student loan forgiveness may be a possibility, will the recipients or their parents have to pay back any Education Tax Credits originally shown on their tax returns while receiving these loans… If American Tax Credit was coaimed, they could amount to several more thousand dollars in taxes that would need to be paid back to the IRS… 4 years of a full American Tax Credit advantage is $4000 per year.. so 4 years times $4000 is $16,000 so now it may be the forgiveness loans just jumped to an additional payback of tax credits amounting to more than the forgiveness in taxes…

Lifetime Education tax credits max at $2000 per year….

Basically the student loans have been bought by the IRS and now the refinancing can possibly be thousands more to be paid to Uncle Sam.. and the states!!!

Biden has not done anyone anything, he only increased the payback and the total amount owed will be GREATER than the amount of the forgiveness and it’s due, immediately..

Be better off to pay your debts people!

Well, well, well… NC just announced that they will tax the forgiveness student loans…. OK, so let’s see how much $10000 will cost tax wise….

Lowest federal tax rate is 25% = $2500
NC’s flat rate is 5.62% =. 562.

So you will owe an additional $3062 when you file your taxes on INCOME that went to a Third-party for you…

Gonna be tough, because there’s no withholding on debt forgiveness… you should file estimated tax payments as soon as you learn your debt has been forgiven..

Take heart, the IRS & NC allow payment plans plus fees, interest, and penalties… IRS allows 6 years to pay, and NC request it all paid by the time you are to file your next returns….
