An 8% return looks great on a statement. But that number doesn't account for what you actually get to keep.
Inflation takes roughly 3%. Taxes take another 2%. That leaves a real return closer to 3%.
A portfolio earning 8% on paper may only be growing your purchasing power by a fraction of that. And if you shift too heavily into lower-yield investments to play it safe, your real return can drop even further, sometimes to the point where you're quietly losing ground every year without a single loss ever showing up on your statement.
Understanding the difference between what your statement shows and what your portfolio can actually sustain is one of the most important parts of retirement planning.

Your account balance tells you what you've saved. It doesn't tell you whether your savings can sustain 30 years of withdrawals, shifting tax brackets, and rising costs.
That's what the complimentary "Will My Money Last?" Retirement Analysis is designed to answer.
It looks at your specific numbers and shows you:
→ Whether your income sources can hold up over thirty-plus years of retirement
→ How your portfolio is positioned to sustain withdrawals, not just grow
→ Where you're currently exposed to tax risk and what coordination could change
This is the starting point for seeing how your income, taxes, and investments work together as one system instead of three separate accounts.

A 30-year retirement needs a different portfolio than the one that got you here.
The strategies that built your wealth were designed to grow it, not to sustain three decades of withdrawals.
Once you shift into retirement, portfolio structure has to account for market volatility hitting at the wrong moment, tax brackets that shift every year, and income that needs to last longer than most plans anticipate.
Rebalancing on a schedule, tax-smart account sequencing, and Roth conversion timing carry more weight now than they did during your working years.
Small structural changes today can protect decades of income later.

The best-performing retirement plans aren't built from better stock picks.
They're built by advisors who understand your full financial picture well enough to plan for it.
One of our clients put it best. After just a few meetings, he said he already considers his Seaside Wealth advisor a friend, someone he trusts to point him in the right direction.
That kind of trust isn't something you can fake, and it's not something that happens by accident.

You've spent years saving for retirement. Walking into a planning meeting, the first question on your mind is probably whether you have enough.
But the questions that matter most aren't about how much you've saved.
Ask how your money is structured to last 30 years.
Ask what happens to your income if the market drops in the first few years of retirement.
Ask how taxes will shape the order you pull money out of your accounts.
These aren't trick questions. They're the ones that show whether your retirement plan is built to hold up over time.
