Recent tax law changes and new planning opportunities make now a good time to review where 2026 stands—and what decisions may still make sense before December 31.

From business investments and deductions to retirement contributions and other tax considerations, more time to plan means more options.

Don’t wait until December to start the conversation.

Happy Birthday, Dyam!

We celebrated our fearless leader the only way we know how—with lunch, office pranks, a life-size replacement, and apparently not nearly enough pictures of his face.

We even ran into some wonderful ladies from the Red Hat Society, who helped us celebrate and made sure Dyam was properly accessorized for the occasion!

Thanks for being such a good sport, Dyam! Happy Birthday from the DSG team!

FinCEN Update: BOI Reporting Exemption Is Now Permanent

FinCEN has finalized the exemption from Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements for U.S.-created companies and U.S. persons, effective August 14, 2026.

For U.S. businesses, this means:
• No BOI filing requirement
• No updates or corrections required for U.S. persons with FinCEN IDs
• FinCEN will delete previously reported information it reasonably believes belongs to U.S. persons

Certain foreign entities registered to do business in the United States may still have reporting requirements.

Because the change took effect mid-year, taxpayers using the standard mileage method will need to apply two different mileage rates for 2026.

If you use the standard mileage method or reimburse employees for business travel, now is a good time to review your mileage tracking procedures.
