You don't need to overhaul your finances completely; sometimes a few small adjustments are all you need to stay on track.
5 Things to Check This Fall
1. Review your beneficiaries.
Have there been any changes in your family or circumstances? Make sure the beneficiaries on your retirement accounts and insurance policies still reflect your wishes.
2. Check your retirement contributions.
Take a look at where you are so far this year. Are you on track with the goals you've set for yourself?
3. Take a look at your cash.
Is your emergency reserve where it should be? Are you keeping more cash than you really need? Your cash position should fit into your overall financial strategy.
4. Look at your spending.
Before we get too far into the fall, take a look at where your money has gone so far this year. Are there any surprises? Has your spending changed?
5. Make your year-end list now.
December has a way of sneaking up on us. If there are financial decisions you've been meaning to make—tax planning, charitable giving, retirement contributions, estate planning or something else—put them on your list now. The same can be said for your holiday spending: review your gift and giving budget now to make sure you're not overbuying at year-end.

It's the beginning of a new month: What is one financial action you can take to be more organized with your finances? What is the one thing you've been procrastinating on in regards to your financial future?
Financial planning can feel overwhelming, but you don't have to figure everything out today. Whether it's organizing your accounts, reviewing your beneficiaries, or asking questions you've been putting off, progress begins with ONE decision.
My seminar for September is now CLOSED, but stay tuned for the next one in October where we will cover this and other financial topics.

Every time I prepare for a seminar, I remind myself why I love doing this work.
It's not about charts, investment strategies, or financial terminology.
It's about helping women feel more confident making financial decisions.
Because confidence doesn't come from knowing everything. It comes from understanding your options.
That's exactly what we'll be doing together during Financially Fit & Fearless on September 10.

One of my favorite sayings is: 'The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second-best time is now.'
You don't have to invest perfectly, you simply have to begin.
Small, consistent actions can make a meaningful difference over time.
Join me September 10 at my virtual seminar. We'll talk about why time matters and how investing in yourself today can support the life you want tomorrow.

Some surprises are good, but some might not be.
Health issues.
Caring for aging parents.
Helping adult children.
Unexpected home repairs.
Life happens.
An emergency fund and a thoughtful financial plan aren't about expecting the worst—they're about giving yourself options when life changes.

One of the simplest financial questions can also be one of the most important: Where are your assets?
Many women have accounts spread across different banks, employers and investment firms. Taking inventory isn't about judgment—it's about clarity, and organization creates confidence.
This is one of the first exercises we'll work through together in my virtual seminar on September 10. For more information and to register visit me at https://www.abayawealthmanagement.com/speaking
