For the past few months, as a new business owner, I felt like if I wasn’t always working in the business and giving it 110% of my time I was failing. I was overwhelmed, but I figured it was just part of the game.

A few weeks ago I had a conversation with my friend and business owner sister . She said “Some of your greatest ideas will come when you’re not working. Real innovation and inspiration will come when you’re traveling, reading a book, or having a conversation with your family.” So For 2021 I’m going to trust the process and prioritize peace and balance. ✌🏾🤍💸

Many younger millennials, and certainly Gen Z, were not old enough to holistically experience the impacts of the last recession. Although we cannot predict the exact time that another recession will happen, we CAN prepare for it. Amani Phipps and I created a list of six things to consider to prepare your life AND your finances.

I had the pleasure of being on a panel with these lovely folks beside me! We talked about our own journeys towards building wealth, entrepreneurship, real estate investing, and establishing your mindset for wealth.

Building generational wealth takes a family commitment. The most important thing we can do is to start having with the people we care about. To start this conversation, I left the audience with 3 questions to ask their families on Thanksgiving.
1. Do you have a plan or savings for retirement?
2. Do you have life insurance?
3. What will our family’s legacy be?

Automate and Go Away! - Summer is the season of traveling, beaches, cookouts, and overspending. It makes sense. Through the fall and winter, our spending tends to be lower since many of us are in "hibernation mode." But once the weather breaks 70 degrees (at least in NYC), the streets are filled with people. Make sure you're still on track to meet your goals by creating auto deposits into your emergency fund, credit cards, etc. on the day your paycheck comes in.
