🧥❄️ This month, we're giving back to Share the Warmth! ❄️🧥

To safely play outside in a South Dakota winter, a child needs a proper winter coat, snow pants, boots, weatherproof gloves, a hat, and a scarf. The cost of these items can really add up — especially for families with multiple children.

The goal of Share the Warmth is to help ease the burden of this necessary winter outerwear for grade-school children. But the event is open to everyone, because we believe no one should have to go without a warm coat in a cold South Dakota winter. 💙

This effort relies on:
🧣 Community donations of new and gently used winter outerwear
💰 Red Kettle and other financial donations
🙌 Hundreds of volunteers who make this one-day event possible

After the event, a limited selection of items stays available year-round at The Salvation Army office or Faith Church — all given away for free to those in need in Brookings County.

📣 We're Hiring! Part-Time Client Accounting Manager (Remote)

TruCount CPA in Brookings, SD is looking for a highly organized accounting pro to join our team of A Players! We help agribusinesses and service-based business owners focus on their strengths by providing accurate, timely back-office financial information.

🕘 Schedule: 20–30 hrs/week, fully remote. Core hours are 8am–5pm, Mon–Thu, with occasional extra hours during busy season (Jan–Apr).

💼 What you'll do:
✔️ Manage bookkeeping for multiple clients in QuickBooks Online
✔️ Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly financial statements
✔️ Process payroll, payroll tax filings, and year-end W-2s/1099s
✔️ Prepare and file sales tax returns
✔️ Build strong client relationships through proactive communication
✔️ Find ways to use AI and automation to benefit clients and the firm

🌟 What we're looking for:

5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (multi-client or public accounting preferred)
QuickBooks Online experience (Xero and ADP are a plus!)
Payroll and sales tax know-how
Strong Excel, Word, and Google Workspace skills
Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication

🎒 This month, we're giving back to the Brookings Backpack Project! 🎒

The Brookings Backpack Project assists children and youth in Brookings County, SD, who may not have enough food to eat at home by providing them with easy-to-prepare weekend meals and snacks throughout the year.

By helping to sustain these children, this program seeks not only to meet their nutritional needs but also to promote their physical, cognitive, and social development — and to enhance their overall sense of well-being. 💙

No child should have to worry about where their next meal is coming from. Want to help make sure Brookings County kids have enough to eat, even on the weekends? Let's support this incredible cause together! 🙌
