📢Tax season is COMING!!! Hey guys just wanted to let you know. Although I would love everyone to be my client lol :) when looking for a preparer here are a few things to stay away from!! Educate yourself!! If you have a bad feeling about ANY preparer or office....get up and politely excuse yourself and say you would rather go somewhere else!! Until you sign those papers you are NOT obligated to stay with any preparer. (But dont just allow tax preparers to fully file your taxes and you want to not file with them because you want a bigger refund , etc)

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEEEEE be careful where you file!!! Even who you ask for an estimate (An estimate does NOT need any personal information for a tax professional to give you one)

There are sooooo many scammers, UNEDUCATED, UNETHICAL, and just straight up thieves out here.

There is absolutely NO Mandatory level of Tax Education for someone to open a tax office and prepare taxes. (Trust me I know what you're thinking, us professionals have been fighting this for yearrrrrrrrssss) I mean all these "virtual preparers" out here claiming they can file in all 50 states...DONT EVEN KNOW how to complete state returns or know what states have credits 🤦🏼‍♀️

Im going to throw a few MAJOR Red Flags out there.

🚩 If you see a preparer say they are licensed, certified, etc especially by the IRS (saying I am a certified tax preparer from the IRS)🏃‍♂️🏃🏾‍♀️🏃🏽RUNNNNNNN

✅️ Call ourselves certified or licensed by the IRS is tax 101 and its illegal for us to do. Tax professionals have designations. AFSP, CPA, EA, etc. Now there are a few STATES that are now making it mandatory for preparers to take courses and pass exams in order to file taxes from their state. CA is one of the biggest. And some of those preparers will say they are Licensed by the state. Just please do your research.
First step should be to make sure they are at the very least on the IRS RPO

🚩Any tax preparer or office telling you they can apply for the advance using your last paystub.

✅️This is 100% illegal for tax professionals. On top of it being against the Refund Banks policies.
If a tax preparer is willing to break that law, just IMAGINE how many other illegal things they do

🚩It is illegal for tax preparers to submit returns/advances WITHOUT you signing all the tax forms. Its also illegal for a tax office to submit a return if they make any changes that are more than $50 from when you initially signed. Finally they also need your signature AGAIN when filing an amendment. PLUS giving you a full copy of the return (showing all fees) BEFORE anything is submitted.

✅️Do NOT allow any tax preparer to tell you, they arent giving you a copy of the return until your refund comes. Or ONLY giving you the 2 first pages of the 1040. A full return can be up to 35 pages.

🚩Finally DO NOT believe these tax preparers that tell you, they can get you hundreds and even thousands more than other estimates youve been getting or you did yourself. ESPECIALLY if you have only w2s. ITS 100% FRAUD!!!

✅️Every tax professional that receives the same tax documents and asks all the right questions will have the same exact amount!! There are no covid credits, no fuel credits, no hidden secretive only they know credits. ITS ALL BS!!

Remember no matter who preparers your taxes, at the end of the day YOU are held responsible for what is on your return.

Did you have a baby in 2025? Don't forget to have your tax professional file form 4️⃣5️⃣4️⃣7️⃣ to start that baby off right with $1000 in there Trump account!!! This will apply to any baby born Jan 1 2025 to Dec 31, 2028!

Note: This is NOT an extra $1000 on your refund... this is starting a "savings" account for your child that they can have in January following there 18th birthday!

Best part!!! Parents can contribute to this yearly as a tax deduction!!

Tax season is approaching FAST!! And there are tons of new changes.

I'll be going live or just posting a video about all of the new laws (and the myths and rumors) (I'll let you know either way)

Sept-Dec is when the IRS starts sending taxpayers audit letters. If your address is NOT updated with the IRS, make sure to change it ASAP. Or keep a look out on your transcripts for any new codes like a letter sent or an audit. Make sure to check 2024, 2023, and 2022 tax transcripts. These are the years the IRS can go back to and request an audit. REGARDLESS if you've already received your refund.

This is also the time the IRS will send letters stating you owe them because they received tax documents you did not file on your taxes. Definitely contact a tax professional if you get one of these letters.

***Just FYI, MOST tax preparers do not include audit protection (an extra fee for clients to pay where the tax preparer will help you with any letters/audits with the IRS or State)
The fee you paid for your taxes to be prepared and transmitted to the IRS DOES NOT INCLUDE audit protection or help with letters/audits with the IRS/State. (Unless your tax office included it or you asked for it)

Some tax preparers will just help their clients, but don't assume, just ask them.

Tax Class is starting soon!!!

It's that time of the year.... Time to check on those paystubs to make sure you either won't owe come tax season or you want to get back a certain amount in your refund.

I help taxpayers fill out correct w4s and do a mid year check to make sure you are where you want to be by the up and coming tax season.

Here are a few facts;

✅️ Just because you do not have anything being withheld for Federal Taxes, does NOT automatically mean you will owe the IRS or not get a refund.

❎️ If you do NOT make more than the size of your family's income limit under the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you most likely DO NOT need Federal withholding (and you could still be eligible for a tax refund) *1️⃣

✅️ MOST taxpayers do NOT fill out their W4 correctly. They tend to not include any previous or other current income, and/or they do not include their spouses income, and one of the biggest is they forget to update their w4 in the year their dependents turn 17.

❎️ Your job(HR, Payroll, managers, etc) can legally NOT help you or offer advice on how to fill your w4 out.

✅️ If you owe the IRS every year and keep filing exempt, the IRS WILL lock your w4 form and send your current and any future employers a lock-in letter, which last AT LEAST 4 years. Meaning you will be taxed the highest and can not include dependents. (On your paycheck not tax return)

IRS STARTED EARLY TRANSCRIPTS ARE UPDATING NOW WITH 846 CODES

Tonight between 3:30am -6:30am eastern Daily and Weekly Pathers will update with a DDD for 2/24 (those with early funding banks and cards, can receive their money as early as tomorrow morning) its possible for a small amount of transcripts to update throughout the day, but very few.

The next big update will be Friday (Thursday into Friday) 3:30-6:30am Daily's and Weeklies will update with a DDD for 2/26 (those with early funding banks and cards, can receive their money as early as Friday morning) its possible for a small amount of transcripts to update throughout the day, but very few.

If your transcript is BLANK wait for at least 2 weeks after this Friday before you freak out. Blank transcripts can update straight into a DDD.

🚫🚫STOPPPPPPP trying to ID verify without having the letter!! If you dont have to ID verify you can end up holding your return up!!🚫🚫

Seeing a 570 DOES NOT MEAN you have to ID verify. 95% is a review usually a wage review (either you forgot to file a form or the IRS still hasnt been able to verify what you filed)

If you have a 570 & 971 it is 100% a review.

If you just have a 570 (and didnt file with an injured spouse form) you will either be in a review or it can just fix itself. Wait 2 full weeks from Friday and if it didnt change reach out.

🔵THEN NEXT FRIDAY 2/21 THE 2ND BIG UPDATE FOR PATHERS FOR A DDD OF 2/26

🟢AFTER THAT DAILYS AND WEEKLIES WILL UPDATE NORMALLY ON THEIR CYCLE DAY.

🟠THOSE WHO HAVE A EARLY FUNDING CARD OR BANK CAN SEE THEIR DEPOSITS AS EARLY AS THE DAY THEIR TRANSCRIPTS UPDATE WITH A DDD.

🟢IF YOU SEE A 570 CODE ON YOUR TRANSCRIPTS (THERE IS AN ISSUE, IT CAN EITHER FIX ITSELF, OR YOU ARE IN A REVIEW, OR FILED AN INJURED SPOUSE)

🔴IF YOU HAVE A 424 CODE. THE AUDIT DEPT HAS 45 DAYS TO DECIDE IF THEY WILL BE AUDITING YOU. IT WILL EITHER SWITCH BACK TO NORMAL PROCESSING OR UPDATE TO THE WORST 420 EVER!!

🟡JUST BECAUSE YOUR ACCOUNT SHOWS A 971 CODE (LETTER COMING) DOESNT MEAN YOULL ALWAYS GET ONE. YOU CAN STILL UPDATE WITH THIS CODE (AS LONG AS YOU DONT HAVE THE 570 WITH IT)
