Have you recently had a kid, or have one on the way, and started realizing there’s a lot more to think about than there used to be?
I’m right in that stage myself right now, and it’s interesting how quickly things shift. One minute you’re thinking about your own goals, the next you’re pricing out diapers and wondering how something that small can require that much planning. It’s not just your income or your expenses anymore, it’s things like how much you should be saving, what kind of coverage actually makes sense now, and how to start thinking about their future without losing track of your own.
Most parents aren’t behind, it’s just new. If you’re in that stage and trying to figure it out as you go, I’m always happy to talk things through. The best part of being a new parent is just being present, and having a little more peace of mind financially is one way to help make that easier.
