Social Security Benefits 62.5 or NOT... that is the question
On many occasions, some clients ask me whether it makes sense to apply for social security benefits at the age of 62.5 or 70. My answer is usually, “it depends on how fast or how much you need your benefits.” I began to answer them in this fashion because I’ve mostly interacted with two categories of future benefits recipients: 1) those who want to take it before the government runs out of money, and 2) those who want to maximize their monthly benefits. I am curious about how often this topic comes up.
