WOW: What if a slow quarter is a visibility problem, not a cash problem?
More revenue doesn't always mean more profit.
When sales soften, the bank balance gets loud. "What can I cut today?" feels urgent, but quick cuts do not always create clarity.
Review three questions:
• What is necessary now?
• What needs closer review?
• What lacks a clear current purpose?
For a Florida retailer, review card fees against sales; inventory, returns and shrink; rent and space use; subscriptions; employee-card policy; advertising; idle equipment; and meals and entertainment. Meals may be partly deductible; entertainment generally is not, and IRS rules can change.
Organized bookkeeping and confidential support give owners a private place to examine the numbers. The result is clarity for the next decision, not promised savings.
How do you review costs when business slows?
Warmly,
