That yellow section? That's money you never saved, your money made it for you.

This is compound interest in action. Start with $1,000/year at a hypothetical 5 percent return, and by year 30, you've built nearly $70,000. But the real story is the yellow: Interest earning interest.

Year 1: almost no interest at all.
Year 30: the interest on your interest alone might cover a year of car payments (or more).

You don't need to invest more. You need to stay focused on your strategy. What's one financial habit you wish you'd started earlier? Drop it below. 👇

A common online security tool is now being used in a new type of scam.

Cybercriminals are increasingly using fake CAPTCHA prompts — the familiar “I’m not a robot” checks — to trick users into taking actions that can compromise their devices.

Instead of a simple verification, these prompts may ask users to click “Allow,” enable notifications, or follow additional steps that can lead to persistent pop-ups, phishing attempts, or unwanted software.

These scams often appear through ads, suspicious links, or redirected web pages, making them harder to spot at first glance.

Security experts note that legitimate CAPTCHA tests do not require enabling notifications, downloading files, or entering system commands — making those requests a potential red flag.

As these tactics evolve, staying cautious when interacting with unexpected prompts can help reduce exposure to online threats.

There's a crossover moment every long-term investor experiences, and it can change how you think about money forever.

It's the point at which your total investment earnings exceed your total contributions, meaning your portfolio is now doing more work than you ever did.

As this chart shows, it doesn't happen overnight. In year 5, earnings are barely visible. But by year 25, earnings have pulled ahead.

The most powerful financial decision you can make isn't picking the right investment. It's staying committed to your strategy long enough to reach that crossover.

Where are you on this chart? Drop a year or decade in the comments.

Many people don't realize that credit card statements show the "minimum payment" and also how long it would take to pay off the balance at that pace. It's usually printed right there on the statement, and it can be an eye-opener 👀

Fun Fact Friday 💡

In 1790, Benjamin Franklin left 1,000 pounds each to the cities of Boston and Philadelphia, with instructions to invest it for 200 years. When the time was up in 1990, the two funds had grown to several million dollars combined, all from that original gift and a lot of patience.

Time is a powerful thing. 😊

What's the best thing you've ever "let sit" for a while? Tell us in the comments. 👇

Happy Friday, everyone!

Prices ending in .99 work because people anchor on the leftmost digit. This is called left-digit bias: $3.99 gets read closer to "$3 and change" than "almost $4."
Luxury brands often skip the .99 and use round numbers, since they signal quality rather than a deal. "Was $50, now $39" works through anchoring too, because the higher number sets the reference point.

Happy Monday, SC! Did you know that in 1932, the Austrian town of Wörgl tried a local currency that lost value if you sat on it. Holders had to pay for a stamp to keep the notes valid, so people spent them fast. The town used the scrip to fund a bridge, a ski jump and other public projects. Interest spread to other towns, but in 1933 Austria's central bank shut it down, since only it had the right to issue money. Proof that money has always been as much about behavior as math!

It's wild how much banking has sped up in just a couple decades!⏱️Back in the day, checks used to take days to clear — so some people would write a check knowing the funds weren't quite in the account yet, banking on the float time to cover it before it bounced. That's actually where the term "kiting" comes from (not the fun kind of kite). These days, with instant transfers and same-day clearing, that "float" window has basically disappeared.
