I had the opportunity to speak on a panel focused on FP&A that drives performance, and one big theme I spoke about was the importance of identifying your north star, and knowing what’s truly driving your business. Making sure your financial strategy, operational structure, and business goals are actually aligned. The operators building intentionally now are the ones positioned to lead long term.

In a lot of growing businesses, the numbers are there, but they’re not always driving decisions.

As reporting becomes more complex, with more locations and moving pieces, it gets harder to see what actually matters and what needs action.

Financial visibility is only useful if it leads to direction. If leadership can’t look at the numbers and quickly understand where to focus or what to adjust, the reporting isn’t doing its job.

This comes up across markets, whether you’re entering something new or operating in a more mature environment where margins are tighter and expectations are higher.

Strong accounting management brings consistency to how data is structured and reviewed, so it can support real decisions, not just reporting cycles.

Excited to be back in Berlin for , one of the most influential gatherings shaping the European market right now. There’s a real shift happening across the EU, and the conversations there tend to move beyond theory into what’s actually being built.

As many of you know, I lost my husband and best friend, Will, of 20 years. He left behind our two teenagers as well. He was a pillar of not only our family, but our community. He’s the reason I am who I am today. Never have I met a man who put his family first and did everything to make our lives the best possible and for that I’m forever grateful. I’ve been passed a torch to raise these two children and continue what he started. My heart breaks, but i also know the mission at hand and will carry on his legacy of kindness and care for others more than himself. What an amazing example of a human he was and soul he still is. 💜

I really want to thank our Canna community and family for the overwhelming texts, calls, messages, and outpouring of love. I can’t tell you how much that has lifted and continues to lift me up so that I can continue our work here at Verdant. Love you all. 🙏

Part of my other mission has been and continues to be taking care operators and community and standing up for them when it comes time to deal with agencies as well as to ensure their stakeholder interaction is proactive rather than reactive. Our operators represent people and families who have worked so hard for a dream and need help navigating such a complex system. Our mission is to support them in such a way that they can realize those dreams.

I’m so grateful to our team who encircled me and supported my in my time away to process, grieve, and to be there for my kiddos. They rock and are ever supportive and for that you have my love and loyalty, as always, in return.
