I had the honor of visiting Mr. Gilbert Young’s studio and was able to check out his original work of art “He Ain’t Heavy”, along with other artworks in his collection. It was definitely a memorable time.

Mr. Young will be featured at this year’s Gala live auction and has donated 2 pieces to the Foundation. Thank you Mr. Gilbert for your support of Morris Brown College.

46 is here! I celebrated another year on Monday and I feel blessed and so grateful for the family, friends, and amazing the people in my life who make this journey an incredible experience.

The old folk used to say, "Just keep on living", when it came to learning the lessons of life and I try to reflect and evolve as the years go by. I've come to understand that in order to experience the fullness of life, you have to remain even keeled and embrace it all with GRATITUDE & THANKSGIVING.

The Good and Bad in life work together to shape and mold you and there is a balance we all must find. While we innately desire to have more good days than bad, we have to cope and remain durable in tough moments.

When my Grandma passed, that was an extremely tough time for me, but giving a scholarship last month in her honor felt really good despite the hurt from her loss. Her death was the Bad, but the lessons I learned from her and the giving spirit she passed down to me; and now having her name continually associated with helping young people is the Good. It all works together.

I've been blessed and I thank God for keeping me and allowing me to see another year. Thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes! Ya’ll made a brother smile.

This week, I am in Savannah attending a retirement study group with some of the best minds in the country.
