This Friday we're excited to welcome and spotlight one of Apache's newest small businesses—Lolli and Pop's Custom Shop!

Founded by Joshua Heller and Katrina Skinner, Lolli and Pop's is a family-owned custom creations business offering everything from T-shirts and hats to tumblers, business cards, vinyl, engraving, and more! 👕🧢🥤

They may be just getting started, but they're already showing what small-town business is all about. ❤️ Lolli and Pop's is currently helping raise funds for the Apache Volunteer Fire Department by customizing 24 blank 8" x 12" aluminum signs with the purchaser's choice of design. 🚒

We love seeing a brand-new business come into our community and immediately look for an opportunity to give back. That's what supporting local is all about—our community supporting its small businesses and those businesses finding ways to support the community right back.

💻 **QuickBooks Thursday Tip!**

Just because money leaves your business account doesn’t mean it belongs on your Profit & Loss! 💸 When money is taken from the business for personal use, it should generally be recorded as an **owner distribution or draw**, not disguised as a business expense. Proper classification keeps your expenses and profit from being distorted and helps your financial statements reflect how the business is actually performing.

💡 Keeping business expenses and owner distributions separate also gives your tax professional a much clearer picture at tax time. **Before categorizing a transaction, ask yourself: Was this for the business—or was it for the owner?** That simple question can prevent a lot of cleanup later!

🌿 **Deduction or Tax Myth?** We love a good business logo—but unfortunately, it isn't a magic tax-deduction stamp. 😆 Slapping your logo on something doesn't automatically turn a personal purchase into a business expense.

When you're deciding whether something belongs on the business books, think beyond the logo and ask yourself **why the business actually paid for it.** A legitimate business purpose is much more important than what's printed on the side!
