We pride ourselves in offering a β€œone-stop shop” firm for most any of your potential tax, financial and other accounting services needs. You will rarely need to go anywhere else for the services necessary for your growing business or personal needs. We provide traditional and innovative professional services to a diverse industry client base varying in size from the multi-million dollar consolidated businesses to the "mom and pop" retail stores. We are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), and the Panhandle Chapter of the TSCPA. The firm is also a member of the AICPA Center for Audit Quality and is subject to the most stringent peer review process employed by the profession.

If your business has been considering a major purchase, new equipment, vehicles, machinery, technology, the timing of that decision has real tax consequences.

Provisions like Section 179 and bonus depreciation can let you deduct a large portion, sometimes all, of a qualifying purchase in the year you put it into service. That means a purchase made and used before December 31 could meaningfully reduce your 2026 tax bill.

But the rules have limits and nuances, and buying something you don't need just for a deduction is never a good move. The right approach is to align purchases you were already planning with the timing that benefits you most.

If a big purchase is on your radar, let's talk through the timing before you pull the trigger.

One of the simplest, most effective ways to lower your taxable income is also one of the most underused: fully funding your retirement accounts.

Whether it's a 401(k), IRA, SEP-IRA, SIMPLE IRA, or Solo 401(k), contributions can reduce what you owe while building your future. But the limits change, the deadlines vary by account type, and the right strategy depends on your income and business structure.

For business owners especially, the right retirement plan can shelter a significant amount of income, and Q4 is the time to make sure you're set up to take full advantage before year-end.

Not sure if you're maximizing yours? Let's take a look together.

With the October 15 deadline in the rearview, the tax world quiets down for most people. For us, this is when some of the most valuable work of the year starts.

The months between now and year-end are prime planning territory. No filing pressure, a clear view of how your year actually shaped up, and enough time to act on it. This is when a good CPA earns their keep, not by filling out forms, but by helping you make decisions that change your outcome.

If your relationship with a CPA has only ever been about filing a return, you're missing the part where it actually pays off.

Today, October 15, is the last day to file individual returns that were placed on extension in April. There is no more runway after today.

If you've already filed, you can breathe easy. If you haven't, there is still a little time left today.

Once this deadline is behind us, our focus shifts fully to year-end planning, making the smart moves now that lower what you'll owe next spring. If you'd like to be proactive this year instead of reactive, let's set up a conversation.

This is it. The October 15 deadline for extended individual returns is two days away, and it does not move.

If your return still isn't filed, don't wait another day. After the 15th, the IRS begins assessing failure-to-file penalties, which are far steeper than the interest you've already been accruing since April.

We say this with love: the shoebox method has to go.

Plenty of small business owners keep their records in a pile, a glovebox, a junk drawer, or a hundred unsorted photos on their phone. It works right up until it doesn't, usually at tax time, or when a lender asks for financials, or when the IRS has a question.

Good recordkeeping doesn't have to be complicated. A simple, consistent system saves money at tax time, catches deductions you'd otherwise miss, and gives you an actual picture of your business.

If your books are more chaos than system, we can help you get them in order and keep them that way.

If 2026 turned out to be a strong year, whether from a bonus, a business that outperformed, a property sale, or an investment win, congratulations. Now let's make sure the tax bill doesn't blindside you.

A higher-income year can push you into a higher bracket, trigger additional taxes, or create an underpayment penalty if your withholding didn't keep up. The good news is that there's still time in Q4 to soften the impact through retirement contributions, deduction timing, and other strategies.

The worst time to find out you owe a lot is at filing. The best time to plan for it is now.
